The project, located in Puno, sought to implement a structural fill solution that would allow the exploitation of new reserves and the underground disposal of tailings, aligning with the operational objectives of the San Rafael Mining Unit and the Nazareth Project.
The main objective of the project was to investigate the accelerated wear and cracking events that occurred in the dissipation station of the Toromocho Mining Unit's Tailings Transport System. As a result of the analysis, recommendations were formulated to strengthen the Pipeline Integrity Management System, implement quality controls in the acquisition and manufacture of special parts, update the hydraulic models (Steady State) with current rheological conditions, and conduct failure tests (expert analysis) on the removed components to confirm the hypotheses. It is also suggested that dynamic flexibility analyses be performed and the correct installation of anti-vibration mounts be verified on-site to prevent future events that could compromise operational continuity and the safety of the facilities.

Our hydraulic engineering and mineral processing team from BRASS Brazil, with the support of WeiWei Yao, an engineer from BRASS China, visited and supported a series of procedures in Changsha, China.
The year 2026 marks a significant milestone for BRASS and for all the people who have been part of its growth and consolidation in the global industry.
On April 16th, a Technical Seminar organized by BRASS was held in Chile, one of the many activities of this year 2026 related to the commemoration of the 25 years of existence of the company at a global level.
